Love Song VI: The 5 Senses

Love Song VI: The 5 Senses

Copyright 2008-All Rights Reserved

I know

the sound
of
you

know it
by
the whisper
of
rain

the patter
of
raindrops
lonely
gentle
on
my windowsill

I know

the sound
of
you

I know
the touch
of
you

know it
when
thought
of you
streaks
through me
like
summer lightning

blazes
in memory
like
a
wild fire

leaving
your touch
a cool burning
here

just
here
inside
me

I know
the touch
of
you

I know
the smell
of
you

know
your
fragrant
woman-smell

seductive
as
desert
sage

know it
by
the
aching
that
comes
with
the
sweet
earth scent
of
you

wafting on
afternoon breeze
stealing
languidly
into
my
daydreams

intoxicating
my
nightdreams

I know
the
smell
of
you

I know
the
piquant taste
of
you

biting
my lips
like
ginger spice

bursting
with
ruby red
sweetness
like
pomegranate
seeds
falling
slowly
on
my tongue

I know
the taste
of
you

lingering
exotic
disquieting

I know
your
taste

I know
the sight
of
you

see your
face

in
the
soft glow
of
Diana’s moon

exquisite
as
a pearl
shining
above
the ocean
of night

I know
the shape
of
you

by
the
constellation
of stars
you wear

brilliant as diamonds
draped
about
your
velvet neck

I know
the sight
of
you

I keep
the
memory
of you
my love
in
my
five senses

see
the flash
of
your
sky wings
at dawn

hear
you
in
a
waterfall’s
song

taste
you
in
pungent
honey-laced
spices

smell
the
essence
of
you
in
sweet grass
and
lavender

close
my eyes
and
touch
you

brush
your
skin
with
the
smoldering
fire
in
my
fingertips

the
memorance
of you
is
here
always
in
my five senses

always
just
here.

This poem is great for teaching descriptive writing, when we ask students to draw on the five senses. I think that I might borrow it for that lesson.

This poem right here is trully real. I actually enjoyed reading it and feeling exactly what I was reading. Most poems I have read in the past have been sweet. This poem is beyond sweet. It expresses true Love. I like the way you explained how a woman can make another woman feel. I never really paid attention to how when one loves trully. We do love with all our senses. "This is extremely interesting!"

This poem is a great piece of descriptive writing. I like how the author uses the 5 senses to describe her love for another person. After reading this, gives me the idea that strong love is when you can notice the person through sight, hearing, tasting, and feeling.

This blog is also one that stood out to me, more than the others. The five senses are essential to everyones being and the use of them is just as important. This blog had me realize how much all of the senses trigger a certain memory or thought of something. I can relate to this blog because every time I smell something, see something, or hear something it reminds me. The visuals help me understand. I enjoyed it.

I really loved this poem. It is very discriptive because it uses the senses to describe her love. I can almost feel, hear and see what the author is saying in this poem. I jsut love it.

Love Song VI: The 5 Senses
When I first read “Love Song VI: The 5 Senses,” my reaction was dumbstruck as if time stood still. What I liked about the poem was that it was so deep and passionate that it reminded me of a true love story. As I was reading the poem, I pictured a woman missing her soul mate and using nature to compare to the spirit of her lover. I really enjoyed reading this poem.

This is one of the most romantic poems I have read in a while. It’s full of unconditional love the way the author expresses her feelings through short words. The way she says, “I know the touch of you I know the smell of you,” sounds sincere and honest. This is a unique poem and the author is brave enough to display her love for another in public. The author generally speaks about how well she knows her partner and without saying much it sounds like she knows every little single thing. The words used to capture her love towards someone else are indescribable.

Frankie Lennon has an incredible gift. In the poem Love Song: The Five senses she manages to make you feel the love that she has for another. I am pretty sutte that almost everyone can relate to this poem. She expresses her love for a special someone who has all her attentionl The slightest smell, sight, touch, and certain tastes remind Lennon of her. She uses great examples to explain the five senses that trigger her to think of her love. I have never taken an interest in a poem. They always seemed corny or had no meaning behind them. Other writers were hard to relate with. However, once I started reading Frankie Lennon's poem I could not stop. I was so intrigued by how Lennon was able to express her feelings towards another on paper. I find it remarkable that you feel the love she put into this poem. It seems as though the words came from her heart and not her mind.

This poem was very touching to me because as I was reading it reminded me of the many 5 Senses that I know about one person that is always on my mind. I kept scrolling down wanting to read more and as I read more it became more clearly to me how much I think of this other person and how well I know this person. After reading one line after the other I had that special someone in my mind as it kept going on and on it made me realize so much more in life and how I should really rethink other thoughts that I thought were already gone and had left me. As the end hit me I realized I not only like someone, but I feel as if I love this person and she is the one I want to spend the rest of my life with.
